History Implementation Specialist

Position Summary

The History Implementation Specialist reports to the Payroll Tax Manager. This position is responsible for entering an onboarding client’s data from their prior service/software and verifying all returns and payments were made correctly prior to going live.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of expert knowledge of federal, state and local statutes, regulations and best practices relating to payroll taxes
  • Contact new clients for prior payroll reports, tax payments, and tax returns
  • Enter client’s prior payroll into our system
  • Verify that the entry matches the client’s prior payroll reports, tax payments, and tax returns
  • Collect any taxes that have not yet been paid that we will be responsible for
  • Verify that the client’s taxes are setup correctly for the agencies that they report to
  • Contribute to client retention by providing positive, clear and effective customer service communication via phone, email and/or fax
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

  • 4-5 years of experience processing and reconciling payroll taxes across multiple states and localities.
  • Possess the knowledge to process and reconcile payroll taxes in multiple jurisdictions, and to learn federal, state and local statutes, regulations and best practices related to payroll taxes
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with a high level of accuracy
  • Work well independently and within a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and willing to learn and master other software applications as needed
  • Preferred experience in MasterTax and FOUNDATION Accounting Software
